My friend and unofficially adopted son is on a vent and needs a liver

Last edited Sun Apr 19, 2020, 07:36 PM - Edit history (3)

Prayers please.

Edit to add:
He moved here at 4 with his mom and dad from the Middle East after his big sister was shot during the civil war. (She is fine today and is being tested for a compatible liver as is his mom.) His dad is no longer with us.

Please everyone stay home.

Okay, I got it wrong. He and his family moved here when he was 8. I think my memory is only good for useless trivia. His sister was shot while they were at a playground in Beirut.

He did have mostly all of the symptoms when he went to the hospital.
He has had frequent hospitalizations due the surgery he had at 16 for a brain tumor.

of a diagnosis, sounds typical of this virus. It's astonishing how badly the many unanswered questions still outnumber what is known.

Well, sounds like he's had to be a fighter and survivor. Hope you'll have good news soon, Discntnt.

So this guy was apparently in partial liver and kidney failure. Also he was in a coma. I say was because, like me, he is a tough ol' bird and is improving. He is still on dialysis but he's awake and done with the vent. If I have it right, the IV fluids are out as well.

I wanted to say THANKS to everyone and to God as well. We are overjoyed here and, were it not for the virus, we'd be having a party.

My best hopes and prayers for anyone who is sick.

Please stay home and stay alive. Beat the virus. We're smarter than it is.
