During her presentation at the White House COVID-19 briefing on Saturday, Dr. Deborah Birx was cruising along until she waded into one of President Donald Trump and the GOPs sorest spots: the Chinese governments apparent undercounting of coronavirus casualties. As Birx, the White Houses coronavirus coordinator, explained a slide showing COVID-19 deaths per capita for various countries, Chinas was marked with an asterisk at the very bottom.
Trump, standing on the sidelines, couldnt help but interject. Excuse me, does anybody really believe this number? he said, interrupting an apparently startled Birxwho then wheeled around, smiled, and coolly explained she put Chinas number on the chart to demonstrate how unrealistic this could be.
Though Birx tried to move on, Trump still couldnt keep quiet. He soon interrupted her again, to make a similar point, this time on the numbers shown for Iran.
Does anyone really believe that number? Trump asked again. You see whats going on over there. He then asked to return to the previous slide and walked over to the screen, hovering and pointing incredulously to China and Irans numbers.

(48,773 posts)The plan: get voters not believing anything.
Then they'll say "Do you know anybody who died? Who do you believe, yourself or the lying media?".
But it is going to backfire. Red hat areas are going to be blowing up in two weeks. By election day, red hatters will know dead people.

(90,740 posts)his own pathetic response, his criminally negligent response, by blaming others.
Doesn't matter what the numbers are in China or Iran - only an idiot would base their response for America on how authoritarian countries responded or the numbers coming out of those countries.
And he is basically saying if other people hadn't lied then he would have responded differently (which everyone knows is a lie), so it's not his fault.
Trump would not have acted any differently regardless of the circumstances.
Trump is a festering pustule of insecurities.
