Maryland's GOP governor isn't sure why Trump is encouraging protesters

when his own plan says economy can't reopen yet

Governors are sticking by their decisions to keep their states' economies shut down, despite protests from frustrated citizens, some of whom received a little encouragement from President Trump, amid the novel COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) has been subject to some of the harsher criticism from Trump and the protesters, and she acknowledged her stay-at-home order is one of the most "conservative" in the country. But, she told CNN's Jake Tapper on Sunday's edition of State of the Union, that it's working, which she says is more important than whether people can purchase seeds to plant in their garden or fill up their boats at the gas station. Michigan, she said, has been disproportionately affected by the virus, so she believes her measures are justified.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R), meanwhile, was restrained, but clear in his message about the protests, telling Tapper that while he understands the frustrations, he doesn't think it's helpful for Trump to encourage demonstrations, especially considering the president's own plan says the economy can't reopen until the infection rate declines for 14 consecutive days.

With a few exceptions the GOP is now "The Stupid Party".

Stupid would be a good cover. The GOP is very good at shrewdly manipulating everything from voting, (suppression) to their unwitting or gullible constituents, (they keep voting them in against their best interests don't they?) and so, I give them none of the excuses that they are honing well.

General Trump has also fashioned a character, (which they are learning from and mimicking) that could be cast in many ways, like, personality disorder, crazy, incompetent, etc.

This is a look who is behind the curtain thing. We would be so lucky if they were all REALLY incompetent morons or mentally ill power freaks. That means the more intelligent and liberal among us could defeat them everytime. No, this is fox-like, shrewd and expert manipulation from a playbook, well tested and stuck too, (see: Koch Brothers). This is by no means a product of stupid, but they sure want us to believe that.

As for the "followers", well, they are being pulled around by their own ignorance, be that a product of stupidity or an appeal to their basest nature. It's a complex mix, like a Republican stew, but it smells horrible, like a septic tank.

Know your enemy,
