Why aren't we coordinating our efforts with the G20, or at least G7, nations?

Some of the things that could coordinate:

1. Sharing and distribution of PPE equipment.
2. Estasblishing a test that can be distributed to all countries.
3. Clinical trials of treatment and vaccines.

And not to excldue other nations, I would work with a smaller group first and then extend the invitation to other nations. We don't have to start with the G20 or G7. We can start with just Canada and Mexico or maybe NATO. Or we can start with the U.N.

My point here is, why not work with other nations on this thing. There is strength in numbers.

It seems that General Trump considers it verboten and it clashes with his regime plans and hair.

The United States has been losing its status, diplomatic relations, and respect from our allies and others. That's another one of El Presidente's walls he is building. Divide, isolate and conquer.

It is so strange to have a president conquering your country. Just look at the list of things he has done since "taking over" as he put it himself.

Yes, I agree. You idea is appropriate at a time like this, but who wants to get Trump's America on their shoes these days? We are a low rate country by comparison to some rich nations.

Alliances as force multipliers is a concept completely antithetical to Trumpism. To Trump, allies are easily replaced and only take unfair advantage of America. Trump has even bashed "so-called" allies like NATO in his daily pandemic rants. He feels the need to screw them over as payback for grievances both real and imagined.

1. Sharing and distribution of PPE equipment.

The Trump administration is using PPE and ventilators as tools to reward friends and punish adversaries, both domestic and foreign. They refuse to stop profiteering and price gouging inside the domestic supply chain, but they will block or even grab shipments to states and foreign countries that Trump doesn't like. Trump is obstructing international sales of ventilators to Cuba, Venezuela, Iran and the Palestinian Authority, but he is all too happy to help out Vladimir Putin in his time of need.

2. Estasblishing a test that can be distributed to all countries.

Last week, Trump said that testing is not his job. That leads into #3...

3. Clinical trials of treatment and vaccines.

Not believing in science, the Trumpers have bet the farm on a silver bullet, hydroxychloroquine.

The administration has also been caught trying to buy up vaccine development efforts to keep it exclusively for the United States. That was dumb in many ways, but Trumpism is all about unenlightened self interest.

Since January 2017 (if not before), Trump has taken every opportunity to undermine international order and destroy America's leadership in it. The Trumpers have already derailed G7 efforts. They tried to screw Canada (and most of the Americas) on masks and ventilators. Scapegoating and defunding the WHO is the next step.

Hydroxychloroquine is not necessarily available now to patients who need it - for conditions that it's useful for, lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

US scuppers G20 coronavirus statement on strengthening WHO

Exclusive: objections leave health ministers unable to agree joint communique on cooperation

US hostility to the World Health Organization scuppered the publication of a communique by G20 health ministers on Sunday that committed to strengthening the WHO’s mandate in coordinating a response to the global coronavirus pandemic.

In place of a lengthy statement with paragraphs of detail, the leaders instead issued a brief statement saying that gaps existed in the way the world handled pandemics.

The failure to agree on a statement will underline the extent to which the pandemic has become a theatre for a wider global disagreement between the US and China in which other nation states are finding themselves increasingly forced to take sides.

Donald Trump has suspended US payments to the WHO in protest at what he regards as the body’s China-centric approach, reflected – in his view – by its failure to challenge China sufficiently over the origins of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, the health minister for Saudi Arabia, which was hosting the virtual summit, abruptly cancelled a planned press conference on Sunday, saying he urgently needed to attend a domestic coronavirus taskforce meeting.

It was Putin's main goal.

There will be very little coordination until we get Biden in there.
