We should not make the mistake that it is only the Trump cult that is protesting. In my opinion, people are becoming desperate and frustrated with the shutdown.
As a nation, we may decide to follow the example of Sweden, and return to "business as usual". It is a huge gamble but one that desperate people are willing to take.
The danger is in a possible second wave, which has historically been more deadly than the first. It could be a very tragic decision.
But it is the people that will decide if they want to end the lockdown, not the politicians. People without food or jobs can become desperate and unpredictable.
There is a growing number of people that have scoffed at this virus and have later succumbed to its attack. It is nothing to be trifled with.
We hope and pray there is not a second wave and thst we can all get back to some normality, as soon as possible.

These crowds of vast dozens of numbskulls do not reflect any will but that of Q-Anon and Faux News lunatics, and of the cheap thug with the hairspray crown.

(111,052 posts)But I am concerned that many families are running out of food and money and are put into a desperate situation.
Granted, many of them are following the commands of their Cult Leader, but I hesitate to think this is all of the protestors.
Though they may not be a majority, a vocal and passionate minority can change public opinion.
I think the best we can hope for is to keep the requirements in place for as long as possible. I do not expect that to last much longer, to the detriment of us all.
