That's what's so unique about quakes. If you share a fault line you can feel it very far away. nt Hekate Apr 2020 #28

I'm in Redondo but I immediately turned on the news and went online and nothing had been reported. Soooo, I thought maybe the guy upstairs is slamming doors or something.

Then again when we had something local recently around 4-5....I was not feeling the shake

After living through the one in Loma Prieta in 89...it takes more to really "shake" me....

But still...stay safe. Hope it's not a prequel....🥺🥰

By the way, when it comes to earthquakes, there’s an app for that! Probably several. I use QuakeFeed. It sends notifications. You can set the size and locale. FYI.

Also, the next natural disaster will be a real mess. I mean, by definition, they always are. But think of it. Whether it’s a tornado, a hurricane, a flood or an earthquake, it will mean people left without shelter. Usually the photos in the news show those temporarily displaced sleeping on cots in close quarters in high school gyms. With Covid in the air, it could compound the problems. Any genuine leaders would be planning contingencies. I’m sure no one in this administration is doing so.

I was in the kitchen making a cocktail and I thought it was a sign not to have another cocktail. So I just smoked a bowl instead.

My daughter lives in the Eastern Sierra - I looked it up and it shows that they had a 4.1 quake yesterday.
I just called her and she couldn't talk because she's doing stuff in her garden, so I guess it wasn't that bad there - or conversley, she's just used to them.
