The partial business openings in the South are designed to 1.Kill the poor and 2.Kick people off UI

The kinds of businesses they are opening up - gyms, bowling alleys, and personal care places - are places where personal contact is all but assured. And those people won't be able to collect unemployment. And they won't be able to vote Democratic if they are dead.

1. That's a very inefficient strategy for killing people

So you are saying that the customers of these places - who far outnumber the employees - are predominately Democratic voters? And that killing a small percentage of them is going to have a significant effect?

Fro not opening. I definitely see that happening. Of course mayors know this and already have a plan for not getting money from states so screw the governors.

4. I think there is a 3rd reason -- to further politicize/partisanize shutdowns/lockdowns

By irresponsibly removing limitations on disease transmission, Repukes are inviting Dems to stake out a contrasting position of being pro-lockdown/shutdown. Why would they do this? "It's the economy, stupid."

They will then attempt to hang all of the economic impact of the pandemic on Democrats (no matter how feeble and spurious such an accusation is in fact) because of the Democratic support for stay-at-home orders.

I'm sorry to be so blunt, but it's no coincidence that the CDC released its racial data on COVID victims a few days before Trump's big push to reopen (LIBERATE!). All Kemp had to do was look at the racial disparity data for COVID in Georgia and the choice was EASY for him.

I was born in raised in Albany, Ga., fwiw, and my mom is still there and I am scared to death for her.

9. I believe this however those small businesses will fail within weeks if not days

When their former customers fail to return in significant numbers. Then Kemp's going to have the same UI problem and many more dead and sick Georgians who will most certainly blame him.

Those businesses owners won't be able to afford their rent let alone paying their employees
