Unless Trump and the rest of the governors that haven't yet, lock everything down, AND KEEP IT THAT WAY, and devote the full resources of this nation to mass testing, tracing, and vaccine development, my guess would be we will be closing in on 100-150K by the fourth of july.

Happy Birthday America, brought to you by Make America Great Again.

Given that yesterday, we were over 45,000, it is not surprising that we would hit 50,000 within two days given that 2,500+ people per day have been dying for almost the last week.

What kind of number did you see today?

Today ended at 47,659, which puts tomorrow at 1.05 (roughly) times that = 50,121

appears to be leveling at a high level. I wonder how the rush to open up and stop social distancing will affect both.

We can't judge what happens to us based upon what is happening in China for a couple of key reasons. First, the average Chinese citizen appear to be very disciplined about wearing a mask, one look at a street scene picture shows 100% mask use. Even leaders there wear masks in public. Second, Chinese officials aren't above hiding some information, for whatever their reason.

If those numbers were repeated tomorrow then we would be at 48,000. That would mean that we reached 50,000 by the end of the day on Friday, assuming the numbers stayed the same.

2,341 died today according to that site.

If a similar amount die tomorrow, it'll be 50,004.

We should've over 48,000 by the end of today. Over 2,500 people per day have been dying since Saturday.
