GOP governors may be reopening just to invalidate unemployment claims.

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2020/4/21/1939356/-GA-losing-it-over-this-possible-explanation-of-Kemp-s-reopening

https://decaturish.com/2020/04/dear-decaturish-governors-decision-to-reopen-businesses-is-political-murder/

From George Chidi:

If there's no state order calling for businesses to be closed, the people who are unemployed can no longer claim that their unemployment is involuntary, even if it would be utter idiocy for them to return to work. A hair dresser or a massage therapist cannot maintain social distance. But they can certainly file for relief ... unless the law says they can work.

ads that are TRUE, that might be able to sink the entire republican party, and take their base out from under them.

That is what the OP alleges (and I kinda believe it).

Isn’t that what you’re asking Bloomberg to spend ad money to produce?

insist on doing, actually not just about this one topic, but about so many things they've been doing with the bailouts and such. The republicans are just way out of control, and anyone who listens to fox "news" isn't going to hear any of it.

years ago the Heritage Foundation and other Right Wing Groups pushed States to adopt laws specific to limit unemployment claims thus lowering the Insurance Premiums as a gift to Employers and Manufacturers. Is was pushed as a Jobs Bill and States being Business Friendly.

With unemployment insurance there is at least a little bit of income going to people who aren’t employed who in turn spend it in the economy. Without that, you’ll see slower recovery in these states desire there being supposedly lower unemployment numbers.
