To say that my confidence in the federal government has fallen is an understatement. As of writing, considerably more than twice as many Americans have died from COVID-19 in about two months than have died from the swine flu over the course of more than a year. The economy is in a first-big-hill-on-a-rollercoaster-like freefall.
How bad have things gotten? Well, it’s a good day when the federal government is merely useless and not actively making things worse.
