Trump's poor poll numbers trigger GOP alarms over November

Senior Republicans and President Donald Trump’s campaign are wrestling with how to best position him for November as the coronavirus poses a grave threat to his reelection.

With Trump’s poll figures sagging in key battleground states six months out from the election, the Republican National Committee has launched a massive effort to reach some 20 million swing voters to make an affirmative case for his performance. But Trump campaign officials are taking a different approach: Rather than devoting resources to boost Trump’s numbers, which haven’t moved materially since he was elected, they want to go scorched earth against Joe Biden.

Over the past few weeks, the Trump campaign has unveiled a digital ad savaging Biden over his relationship with China. It also launched a weekly online program dubbed "War Room" in which presidential advisers take aim at the former vice president on an array of issues. The campaign has also weighed a major TV offensive going after Biden.

The deliberations illustrate how the highest ranks of the Republican Party are grappling with the uncertainty the coronavirus crisis has injected into the race — and how best to prepare for a general election that looks nothing like what they'd been anticipating.

It's on a linear negative trajectory. I am confident that this administration is incapable of altering the course of this disaster and the subsequent wrecking of our economy.

Does the VP mannequin that gets rolled out daily....is he the official administration undertaker? He fits the bill.

Post vids of his trash talking women, minorities overseas allies. Everything! Drag his kids into it, after all they are members of the administration or campaigning for him.
The grifting, self dealing. I could go on but we are all aware of and have probably forgotten alot.

His attacks on the media gets his knuckle dragging base fired up, so lets leave them out of the attack ads.

If they rule that the taxes must be released then they must be released.

But I agree that using his tax returns against him is a great idea.

And I think we will start seeing that soon. I bet there are a number of Republican Senators, for example, who now wish that they had voted to remove Trump from office. We shall soon see significant “distancing” from the President, I suspect.

featuring the GOP. Jeeze, you'd think they could actually win one on their own merits. When was the last time they did that? No, that's not the Republican way. Trash, bash, and then create the perception that the info you blanketed the airwaves with sank your opponent. Provide election manipulation...and presto..a how-to win an election GOP style.

If major corporations can get ads specific to the virus out this quick you’d think making ads using audio, images, and voiceovers would be much easier.

Sounds like they have a stupid problem.
