of Donnie Shit for Brains term instead of the first?
It's a shitshow, but I feel myself being thankful that he only has one year to fuck this up instead of 4.

(66,093 posts)He had three years to posture and preen until the next election, by which time, he and Cheney had engineered an event that encouraged voters not to 'change horses in mid-stream.'
Trump can try to start a war to distract from his managerial incompetence, but there's not enough time until the election for that to mitigate the damage he's done to his re-election chances.

(7,715 posts)What is disheartening for me is that this fool has until January 20, 2021. The damage he can do, based on what he has already done, is unfathomable.

(219 posts)That bastard destroyed any chance we had to isolate like the way the world pounced on Ebola's early outbreaks.
Shaking swords at the world has consequences. That bastard.
My only comfort is that many of the people involved when we were preparing are still around to contribute what was known before the DT regime.

(11,693 posts)He fired the team and cut the CDC budget in 2018. It stands to reason that if this had happened in 2017, shortly after he took office, that the response would have been lead by the scientists and public health people.
Granted, Trump would likely have fucked it up anyway because he cannot stand not being the center of attention. He would have found a way to get into the middle and interfere and mess everything up.
