Flight attendants, actually all front-line airline employees work very hard and get very little appreciation. I know. I was an airline ticket agent from 1969 to 1979, and I like to say that nothing I have done since then, including childbirth, has been half as hard. It is as front lines dealing with the public as there is. And I'm saying that will all due apologies to what it is like these days in the front lines of health care. You guys are going through vastly worse conditions than I ever experienced.
My essential point is that too many people have never had jobs where they dealt with the public, even back in what we might now think of as the good old days. The public as a group are AWFUL. They are rude, belligerent, ignorant, demanding, and unaware of what is really going on. As has been posted in various ways already, I just hope that when this is all over people understand who really kept things going. And it's not the 1%. Not even the top 50%. It's the bottom 10% or so who have been underpaid and despised for too long.
