Former Vice President Al Gore:

“We’ve got to get through this in spite of Donald Trump. But it has been an irresponsible, incompetent, and in many ways disgraceful performance.”

He should have been the 43rd President, thanks to Florida shenanigans and the SCOTUS, Bush was installed.

Probably no 9/11. The Middle East wouldn't be as broken as it is now. We'd be at least halfway to fixing the damned global warming problem and we'd all be making our own energy with solar panels.

That one piece of crap 5-4 SCOTUS decision had unbelievable consequences.

If the Supreme Court hadn't been already partisan and corrupt in 2000.

If the Florida election commission hadn't been partisan and corrupt in 2000.

If we'd had a President elected in 2000 who already knew a fuckton about climate change, and ALSO would have read his intelligence memos diligently in August 2001 instead of going on vacation when there was a known imminent terrorism threat.

I might be wrong - but I do think there's a very mighty chance that we'd have made MUCH more progress on reducing emissions (to the point where we'd have backed far off the current doomsday levels), the early 70s Twin Towers might still be a prominent feature in the NYC skyline, everyone killed in the BS wars in Iraq and Afghanistan would still be alive, and the toll of Hurricane Katrina would have been much less because meaningful aid would have come in much faster.

Fewer than 600 votes in Florida.
