Companies look to limit legal liability for coronavirus infections

WASHINGTON — As companies start planning their reopenings, business groups are pushing Congress to limit liability from potential lawsuits filed by workers and customers infected by the coronavirus.

They appear to have the White House's ear.

President Donald Trump has floated shielding businesses from lawsuits. His top economic adviser Larry Kudlow said on CNBC last week that businesses shouldn't be held liable to trial lawyers “putting on false lawsuits that will probably be thrown out of court." He said the issue could require legislation, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Monday that the issue would be a priority when lawmakers return.

These are your rights people! Without any liability for their actions more people will die, plain and simple.

Want to open your bowling alley but not require sanitizer, go ahead. Masks and gloves for employees, sure if they want to bring their own. Everyone gets sick, not my problem.

with no effective physical protections and not legal liability. It is perfect if you are a meat packer or an auto maker. There always someone waiting for that spot on the line. The workers are no more important to the company than the tits on a boar hog.

Everything for the corporation, nothing for the worker. How long are we going to accept the status quo? When will we rise and say, "Enough is enough, we are mad as Hell and we aren't going to take it any more."

As soon as your employer calls you back to work you loose unemployment. This means you’ll also loose the right to sue if you get sick. They are assuming all businesses are as evil as they are. That being said, a massive boycott shouldn’t be difficult for us to pull off. We’ve been practicing for weeks. Remember what happened when we targeted advertisers? We can do so much more now.

It's actions such as this, shielding criminal negligence against the corrective actions of justice, which ultimately yielded mass school shootings and the fact Agent Orange is not only walking free, but, has been installed as the President of the United States of America.

Seriously, if the Democrats cave even one iota on this and aren't making monumental screams from the top of the highest buildings in every town on this... I'm out of here. There's nothing left for me to do or believe in.
