Be honest, when Trump was elected did this enter your mind?

He will wreck the economy and ruin our lives. We all thought it, will all saw the obvious. We did not know what form it would take, but we knew it would happen.

This is why we have always thought the Trump voters had lost their minds. They were unable, refused to recognize what a child could recognize. It is flat out scary what the Trump voters have done and are still doing.

We have been vindicated and it is a very sad vindication.

I didn't predict a pandemic, but I did predict he would become a dictator, would kill a lot of people, and debase the country. Oh, and utterly wreck the economy. I moved my 401K to cash in 2017.

- I thought it would be of his own making - And while he did not cause the pandemic, I knew this administration with their band of rejects would not be able to handle it.

and most people would eventually get tired of his antics and abandon him. Plus, that, he would be far more constrained than what he has actually been by all the limits on his authority that Republicans put on President Obama (which I was clearly wrong about).

I DO think that Trump *is* wearing people out by his antics and incompetence and that will *probably* be enough to drive him out of office but I'm not taking anything for granted and am perplexed that he has any supporters left at this point. I did NOT anticipate the sheer scale of the horrific public health and economic disaster that is currently unfolding.

You know, if he was treated like Carter, all the media would be running a clock or something like the Iran hostage crisis.

I was expecting something more self serving like ignoring a terrorist warning and having an attack or even something of a false flag along that vein. Even enough provocation to force Iran to take an action that would have to be responded to with overwhelming force (just wait that will be the second term if he gets reelected).

If he was not, she felt, we would all suffer. I did not share the sentiment and celebrated each of his many failures.

I knew he would make a mess of things - the economy, the environment, our relationship with other countries, etc. - but I NEVER thought he would lead us down this road. In retrospect, I think my sister was correct - I am now more concerned for the world than I am my hatred for trump. (Though I still hate him MIGHTILY)

I thought he'd wreck the economy as others have already said. He'd show a preference for the ultra-wealthy, get us into wars, and roll back civil rights. A pandemic never crossed my mind but I figured we'd get hit by terrorists to justify the wars. I thought I was expecting the worst but I guess not. I figured there would be a revitalization of racism and racism denial. He is the continuation of the rushing in of utter stupidity; the embodiment of the Ugly American. Until large segments of society get their heads out of their asses, we will struggle in this country as a collective.

Yeah, being "Cassandra" kinda sucks.

I'm lucky. I could afford to take some steps:

1. Reduced debt to zero
2. Made sure I had an emergency food supply
3. Continued to live below my means and avoided big-ticket purchases.

I expected a big economic crash would come and that this administration would not only be incapable of dealing with a crisis, but it would also invest heavily in things that would make it worse.

What I recognize is that anybody living paycheck to paycheck would not be able to do these things, even if they expected the day would come.

We knew he would destroy the country. My hunch was he would antagonize terrorists who would launch nuclear weapons at us. That may have come from being a child of the cold war.

Their success has been in harnessing the stupids in this country. They are armed and ready to go for whatever vents their resentment and anger.

Yes, I had a gut feeling. I pleaded with people who I knew were voting third party because they just could not bring their stupid asses to vote for a woman. I begged. I explained. I cried and told them that too much was at stake.

I felt when George W. Bush was installed and Al Gore was prevented from being President that God/Mother Nature had given us a test for the new millennium and that we had failed miserably.

We got a second chance with Hillary and America phucked that one up, too. I’m just not sure we will get another chance, but if we do, the idiots better get out of the way and let Biden take the lead. It is our only remaining hope.

Because all my alarm bells were going off that this was terribly wrong and would mean many bad things.

I made a note of the unemployment numbers and stock market on his inauguration and told all my friends that we would be in a depression by the next election. They all scoffed at me for being an alarmist.

...and he has. Fortunately there are a few checks and balances left that we may be able to salvage enough of it to survive. I knew something financially devastating would happen. I told my husband to move our 401K savings. He moved half of it. That half has been hit pretty hard. I am not surprised by this, but it still feels surreal and didn't know the whole freakin' world would come to a screeching halt.

I seriously thought it was a prank that would be corrected soon.

When he was sworn in, a heavy weight descended on me, and feelings of doom and gloom befell me.

Those doom and gloom feelings had no shape or substance at the time. But they do now.
