get the same treatment? I would predict we will see people accused of basically running forced labor camps.

...I never ate bacon again...or hot dogs for that matter.

If people knew how unsafe the factory meat they ate was they would all contract with small farms for their meat.

And this was over 40 years ago when plants were "safer"...

...routinely had cancerous tumors cut off them as did the pork butts used for ham.

The butcher would put the tumors and other questionable trimmings into a large rolling metal cart.

When the cart was filled will meat trimmings I would roll it into another part of the plant where they used it to make hotdogs.

All the diseased meat was put into the hot dog processing.

The sodium nitrate/nitrate cure used on the bacon and hams was so strong it would dissolve the soles of normal work boots in less than 2 weeks. We had to wear special kinds of shoes.

The FDA inspector walked out on the floor only 1 or 2 times a day for 10 minutes or so. There was only one inspector in the whole plant.

We all worked in very close quarters in very wet conditions. The moisture on the floor and work surfaces was blood, curing solution, and water.

I'm sure it is far worse now.

We only eat turkey hot dogs these days. Any comments on pork chops or Italian sausage?

...was in a pork processing plant.

I eat Smart Dogs (Veggie) when I want a hot dog.

The only animal flesh I eat is wild caught fish.

Working in that plant basically turned me into a pescatarian.

To be clear...I was "Mr. Meat" before I worked there. I hated anything but meat and potatoes.

As I said, this was in the '70's. I'm sure it is much worse now.

He is personally affected. That officially makes this a crisis.
