Kansas Man Drinks Cleaning Products After Listening To Trump

After President Donald Trump floated ingesting highly toxic disinfectant as a treatment for the coronavirus, Kansas health authorities say a man drank cleaning product over the weekend.

Lee Norman, the state health officer, said the head of the Kansas Poison Control Center reported a more than 40 percent increase in cleaning chemical cases.

“Including a fellow over the weekend who drank a product because of the advice he’d received,”
Norman said during a news conference Monday.

The advice that this man received didn’t come from a doctor or a medical professional. It came from Donald Trump’s coronavirus briefing where he suggested putting UV light in people’s bodies and injecting individuals with bleach to kill the virus.

There was a lot of laughter when Trump suggested injecting disinfectants into the body from citizens who couldn’t believe that a president would say such a stupid and dangerous thing, but some people listened, and now they are sick because they took the advice of Donald Trump. - PoliticusUSA

they're getting a better break than many of those who have or will die because of how President Trump handled this virus threat.

I have seen what happens when someone ingests a product like this. There are no breaks there, not now or tomorrow or forever. I would say it is a tie as far as how a body is ravaged but he did it to himself because he is not very bright so take that tie down a few notches.

I am just hoping this isn't my brother!

Hypochlorite is not all that stable at pH of 1, which is stomach acid. But it could do a lot of damage before it gets all the way to the stomach. It could, as it is decomposing, denatures enzymes which could cause serious digestive issues.
But, the organohalide quaternaries that are used in MANY sanitizing products are very chloride resistant, stable in a low pH environment, and are very efficacious on bacteria. Including the beneficial bacteria in our digestive systems.
They could have digestive issues, serious not a bellyache, for a long time. That could lead to an electrolyte problem which is also potentially fatal.
Lastly, active chlorine donating compounds being stable suggest intestinal absorption into the blood stream. This puts kidneys & liver.
If they Dean enough, they could be in for a rough ride.

Most will be at least a bit older and will have already reproduced. That's just the way it is. Hope they're all okay, if still only able to get by with help from their friends that they don't always get.

Reuters/Ipsos April 27-28 public opinion poll found that fewer than half of all adults in the U.S. - 47% - said they were "very" or "somewhat" likely to follow recommendations Trump makes about the virus. Uhuh. Strictly a statement of loyalty.
