The new normal should be a total safety net for everyone in this country. Whether citizen, visa holder, immigrant. Whether white and wealthy or all the rest of us.

My daughter happened to be in Germany when she had an emergency. The German health system and follow-up services were excellent. After several weeks of care I believe she paid under US$ 100.

I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK TO "NORMAL." NORMAL IS NO PAID SICK LEAVE FOR MANY SERVICE WORKERS. NORMAL IS 27.5 MILLION AMERICANS UNINSURED AND 40+ MILLION UNDERINSURED. NORMAL IS POLITICS OVER SCIENCE AND CRAPPY PANDEMIC PREPAREDNESS.

"NORMAL" IS WHAT GOT US IN THIS MESS.
