I got thru IRS about stimulus. Says it will mail to old address MAY 1. Does anyone have

any idea what I can do. They obviously have not done my 2019 return that is a refund and has the proper address. I have not been able to get thru to the IRS until today. This is what it says to me.

Payment Status
We scheduled your check to be mailed on May 01, 2020 to the address we have on file for you.

We will mail you a letter with additional information on this payment.

1. I have same problem except I haven't even gotten as far as you have...

They have a wrong address on file and I know even if they mail it, I won't get it.

4. I finally got out of the penalty box doing too many times. Checked 2018 file address and

put it in exactly as on tax form. It was all capital letters and LANE was spelled out instead of Ln. It has to be entered exactly the same way. I have been trying to get in for days.

I also read that IF you are not getting it but putting info in correctly capitalize the address. Maybe that is because tax agents fill it out that way, I do not know but they seem to imply even if not capitalized on tax form, to do it would get you in.

7. It should have taken you right to

enter bank information page.
If you enter your bank account information they should deposit. At least that's what it did when I checked for my stimulus check.

8. That is what I heard and was surprised. What I put in Op is the only thing it gave me. I will try

again after reading comments here to see if I missed anything, but that is what i had been reading from others. That is would take me to that screen. And weird all of a sudden it is tomorrow when I finally got thru. Like it triggered it.

10. It might be too late because they plan to mail yours tomorrow.

I don't have a date for when they planned to mail mine. Do you know who lives at your old address? You could contact them and ask if they get your check to let you know?

12. I have a neighbor that could talk to the woman, but I have not been there for a year so

I doubt the mail person will leave it knowing well I am no longer there.

2. Check with post office of your old residence that it is currently forwarding ALL your mail

to your new address.

5. I have not lived there for a year. They are not forwarding. You think I can get them to do that?

It was an apartment and I was going to call to see if the lady took care of place could have postman deliver to office. We are pretty tight. I did not know if there was a way to go online with IRS and change to a direct deposit.

6. There is an option to give IRS your bank account number.

In which case they will deposit it. It comes up when you check your stimulus status. If you enter your address in all Capital letters it will take you right to "enter bank information" page.

11. I think it might not be doing that for you because yours is scheduled to be mailed tomorrow.

Mine is still not scheduled to be mailed.
Maybe you could contact post office and see if they have any advice?

13. That must be it, because tomorrow. I just find it ironic all this time and then, boom!!!

Tomorrow with an old address. I kept telling son to get taxes done so they would have the new address. Turbo and I do not do computer stuff. It was nice of him but his procrastination has mucked all this up. I am not getting my refund anytime soon either. I hear they sit those to the side.

16. Go visit your new post office or old one

Explain what's happening and ask if the mailman who has the route with your old address will set aside the mailing for you to pick up.

20. The clerks are pretty nice and if the mailman

has been on your old route for awhile, he or she will know you've moved or that mail addressed to you doesn't belong to the address to which it was sent.

14. Yes.

Call your old post office & make sure your mail will go to the new address. I'm finding people to be extra-nice during all this.

18. Okay, I will try calling first. And mostly, yes. Everyone is nice and helpful. Then the very few

that for whatever reason simply likes to make things hard for people for no reason but their own trip. (Had that yesterday with dental insurance, though the day before the person was so nice and helpful and efficient. Night and day.).

21. yeah that is bad timing and other than the suggestions of getting the post office to help

I think you are stuck. I had the same problem you did but finally got in and was able to get my info in, in time. I don't know when it will arrive, I have to check on Saturday according to something I read.
