You can tell re-opening the economy is a scam because there's no criteria for re-closing the economy

Donnie and the republicans have offered no guidance for what needs to happen for us to shit things down again after we "re-open" the economy.

It's an experiment they're running on our lives, but there's no guidance as to how many of us must die, or what needs to happen before they say ok, things got worse, we need to shut it down again.

Because yet again, like a spoiled 5-year old, Donnie simply decided the way he wishes the world was, and declares that's the way we must pretend it is. And if the world proves otherwise, he'll handle that next crisis by getting angry and blaming others.

The reality is that absent a vaccine and truly effective treatment, the only criteria for *gradual* re-opening if the economy is when there's no community infection. When the new cases are only the results of contact within discernible hot spots, that's when you can take small, careful steps to re-open. But that requires massive testing and contact tracing to isolate any hot spots.

There's no plan to do that, and there's not nearly enough testing for that.

And there has to be an understanding that if community infection returns, we go back to a broad shutdown.

Absent all this, Donnie is simply turning us all into biological weapons and setting us off against each other.

Rinse and repeat until 70% of our population get the virus and we get herd immunity.

As long as the deaths are disproportionately black, poor, city, and blue state people, red states will keep pretending they're a different country from the rest of us.

When a lot of people are dying in rural areas, it's not sensational news because it'll be widespread. Easier to make headlines when it's all in one city.

The slaves who will be forced back to work will be largely people of colour and working poor.

From listening to pandemic experts talk, the best time to take action was yesterday, and the best course of action to take is one more drastic than any you're actually considering. In hindsight one should have always acted more quickly and more severely, so acting to shut down without a complete plan for re-opening was a very prudent thing to do. Dithering about plans on the back end would have only cost lives.

are laying out plans using common sense and science, including monitoring plans and directives on how to draw things back if the hospitalizations start to grow uncontrollably.

IAE, without widespread testing you can't really do anything responsibly.
