I was a Sanders supporter but never liked the Bernie bro types. I hadn't been over there much but got a couple of feeds recently and it's filled with Biden bashing and people posting Breitbart SHIT about Biden! WTF is wrong with these people? She needs to get control of that shit! Maybe they are mostly Russian bots?

(15,751 posts)Imo, most of us have a tendency to 'exculpate' our chosen 'heroes'. I exculpate many of the 'Founding Fathers' who did some great work, but can readily be criticized.
AOC and BS, need their flocks, the way they are.

(17,862 posts)As far as I am concerned.

(73,528 posts)represents a significant part of the Democratic Party. She also represents a large segment of those on the left who are not members of our party. Our goal must be to convince those on the left -- within and outside the party -- to vote for Biden in November. They were part of the Obama coalition, meaning victory in the election.

(89 posts)She's telegenic, and young, and outspoken. That's about it. She in no way represents the future of the Democratic party. In many ways she is the mirror image of tRump, and just as addicted to the camera. I've never heard an actually new idea from her. She will not go down in history as a significant legislator or leader.
As for the Bernie bros, the ones who are not Russian bots are worthy of nothing but contempt and derision as they attempt to fracture any kind of a progressive coalition.
If AOC is a mirror of tRump, them Bernie Bros are the mirror of MAGA's (infantile, ignorant, and angry)

(19,473 posts)It's a page put up by her supporters. She doesn't control the content -- which is, indeed, vile.
I wish she would post something on there upbraiding them, but that's not likely.

(35,432 posts)Active measures. They know that AOC's supporters are Bernie's supporters. So, the best way to build a fire against Biden is through AOC's page.

(10,142 posts)as her? I've never seen her say anything positive about Biden.

(43,261 posts)especially over their endorsements of Biden, and also their support of the bailout bills, which they (the ultra radical left) hate. They think that AOC has already sold out and is now just a career-climber.
do try and keep up

(5,524 posts)She was saying that throughout most of the world there are multi party systems in which they would not be in the same party. And that is a reality. If you had 5 parties, then she would be in the left and he would be in the center left.
That is not the same thing as not belonging in the same party in a two party system.

Here is AOC's campaign page:

Here is her official congressional page:

Only AOC or staffers who are named admins can create posts on her page. Anyone can comment, but comments are moderated and can be deleted if inappropriate. Generally on the congressional pages, they allow the comments (1st amendment - free speech) unless there is a TOS violation or something.
Dan Patrick, our Lt Gov posted something against abortion and the q-anon types came out and started saying awful things about women and unplanned pregnancies. To my surprise, Patrick actually removed those comment.
