I'm posting this for anyone else in that same category so you'd know they finally got around to people who don't owe taxes.

(1,233 posts)There is Social Security, SSDI, and SSI. If he is on SSI only, he will probably have to log into the IRS website and request payment. The payments are only going automatically to those who receive a tax document from Social Security; SSI recipients dont get those.

(25,816 posts)I got mine on the 15th. A good friend, likewise on SS, does not file a return. She got a physical check around the 20th.
I think there's a randomness to who has gotten it and who hasn't.

(45,806 posts)& the SS recipiants would go out in the next few weeks. That's why I posted this today. I thought ours was an indication they had started on the SS list. Oh well. I guess there's never anything that logical with the gov't.

(25,816 posts)I filed on March 23. So my info was more or less at the top of the pile. It's so hard to say. Because my SS deposit and the stimulus money were deposited at exactly the same time, my thought was that they were sending it out to SS recipients on the day they normally got their money. Clearly that's not the case.
And lots of people are getting physical checks who have direct deposit for SS. Yes, it's quite weird.
