1. I use Firefox...

I use Firefox so I never see ads on YouTube.

However, I think the ads that are served with the videos are not fixed, i.e., you could get a different one next time, just like spots on television. If you get a chance, watch the beginning again and see if that's the case.

Also, I don't know if YT does any targeting with those ads based on your viewing history, but tracking and that can occur on other sites. There is a lot of targeted advertising that pays attention to what you like, want, do, etc.
