I'm seeing this all over, it's bad enough that my wife asked me about it as her right-winger relatives are bloviating about it and flooding her Facebook feed.
Why do they think we are going to swap in someone who wasn't even running? When Bernie was the frontrunner, it was talk of a convention swap. Now it's claiming that Biden will drop out and the 'real' DNC pick will come forward.
They seem to be fixated on Hillary, Michelle Obama, or now Gov Cuomo being inserted.
I don't get it. I just don't. Is it because they know they cannot beat Joe?

(2,343 posts)I think there was fear the governor of New York might enter the picture, for some reason. Biden is the nominee.

(7,947 posts)the GOP will be forcing Trump out and replacing him with... Pence? Haley?

(25,746 posts)they then attack whoever the replacement would be. It's only the beginning of May right now. They could, hypothetically, force out at least three or four candidates by the time of the nominating convention, however it happens. Which would result in a completely divided Democratic Party. About 80 Democrats per state would vote (I'm exaggerating a bit here) and of course Trump would win in a landslide.
It's distantly possible that by August there will be enough changes that somehow our nominee will be someone other than Biden, but I certainly wouldn't count on that at all.

(3,426 posts)and do not speak of is that TRUMP is on course to dividing the republican party in a move to play the all Trump republicans against republicans that are not the party of Trump. And Joe Biden's years experience in politics working the isles scares them more now than ever. Trump all but called George Bush a traitor because of his public statement calling for unity. His saying we are not political combatants goes against Trump's divisional modus operandi. It should be clear as can be considering Trump sees no wrong in dividing family's over political differentiation's. In fact he is all about that. The swap thing is because they have no other way to pitch a diversion in effort to escape the writing on the wall so to speak. Trump's figure head game isn't working anymore and his reality show is a total flop. Here we are in global crisis with the corona virus and Trump thinks it's all about swinging deals or so it appears. Shifting blame ,falsifying truths and on and so on with those lies and deceit.
