is that they have nothing to do with how poorly Trump and his maladministration has handled this Pandemic and created the situation that we're all horribly stuck in, but everything to do with attacking and harassing responsible leaders whom are doing everything they can to try to save lives now that we're in this mess.

(82,849 posts)There seems to be a vibe that "the worst is behind us all, and the ongoing protective measures are overkill by a handful of nervous nellies." It's as if, once again, the people with expertise who are right on this and who know what they're talking about are just one faction of a multi-sided issue where everyone has an equal chance of being right.

(7,394 posts)protests. IMO the protests are an offshoot of white nationalism in which any particular disagreement is seen as an attack on the whole. This week I guess it is about perceived attacks on personal liberty. Personal liberty has been an extremely large umbrella, so whether it be gun rights, the right to circumvent public safety requirements, and on and on. It's always individuals seeing themselves as victims which extend to an entire group.

These are inconveniences, not a subrogation of anybody's rights.

(32,626 posts)orchestrated performances with lots of innuendo, twisted logic, a limited script, and all about creating a perception, with help from the tv media. The true-believers have no idea what they believe...beyond the buzz words. It's just fun, and makes them feel good.

I converse with some very conservative people, real Trumpers, and they are staying at home and being careful. Actually I was a bit surprised that they were going with the science rather then the politics. Many conservatives aren't willing to commit suicide for Trump, although they would't mind you doing so.
