NCAA to let them play football? They will want their rich alums to be able to come tailgate, get drunk and write checks. I love football, really love it, but I can't imagine a scenario where it will be safe to play in September can you? I think the pressure on the NCAA will be TERRIBLE. The money to be lost is enormous!
Plus lots of the power schools are in bright red areas with crazy Trumpers in the stands. I can already see it on football message boards, they don't believe it would be unsafe to play. The liberals "hate college sports", they want "all of us to be snowflakes like them". It is pretty bad already.

(3,577 posts)I did hear on Gary Parrish's college basketball podcast recently that one idea that was floating around was to delay the college football season till January... and delay the basketball season till January as well so that they run concurrently. I rather like that for the idea that we could potentially have the Final 4, the FBS playoffs, and the championships in both sports all within a weekend or two. But college football in January and February would be tough to do in a lot of parts of the country. And if the NFL is playing at the same time in this scenario, televising college games gets complicated.
