Coronavirus cases in Georgia near 29,000 days after shelter in place order expires

Georgia now reports there are 28,943 positive cases of COVID-19 in the state.

Georgia is also now reporting 1,183 coronavirus deaths and 5,410 hospitalizations.

The new numbers were released Monday around 6:30 a.m.

Fulton County has the most positive cases in the state with 3,026. That's followed by DeKalb County with 2,229 cases, Gwinnett County with 2,021 cases and Cobb County with 1,792 cases.

Magical thinking is going to get many people killed, and I have vulnerable family members.

I don't know how to protect my family. We will mostly continue to shelter in place, but clients are beginning to demand in-person meetings, and we will be forced to interact with people more often - even as the number of infected continues to rise.

People are acting like it's mostly all over now, but the math shows that the danger in this part of the country is only increasing, and will do so even faster due to all these idiots gallivanting around like it's 2019.
