I am at mental health level angry now!
Words aren't enough to convey the burning anger I feel day by day, at the death and destruction going on. It could have been avoided.
It should have been avoided.
And what is unbearably angering about it, ---makes it twice as bad, --- is seeing people accept it, and even support it!
Are people just going to accept 135,000 dead?
Really!?
And now he is using us to blame another country for his own negligence.
Is there no bottom to this thing?

(2,021 posts)...that the orange con man in the White House makes George W. Bush look good.
Right now, I'd just love to have George W. Bush back.

(3,482 posts)He was absolutely horrid President. I miss the idea that we couldnt do worse than him.
Jeebo
(2,021 posts)I'm not saying that I miss W., but that the contrast between W. and that orange thing currently in the White House is so sharp, is so extreme, that as bad as W. was, that contrast makes even W. look good. THAT'S how awful that orange raccoon is.

(86,323 posts)When we stand up and say, that's it mofo, you're done. You have no legitimacy as far as we are concerned and we will go on some kind of autopilot until the inauguration of 46.
Until we define that bottom and shove a floor under the freefall, it will continue to descent to ever lower depths of depravity.
ETA: If we don't, it really could turn out to be the end of the world.

(10,122 posts)as many of them are dead already through under reporting.
And the balance are going to die as they're already infected.
Sadly, I think there are lots more to come.
The only bottom I can see is getting Trump out of the Oval office.
25th Amendment is not going to happen.
Impeachment is not going to happen.
Throw your energy into Biden winning in November.
That appears to be our only solace unless the virus delivers some karma.

That's the case for me anyway.

(115,587 posts)He and Cheney lied about their justification for invading Iraq, and that was unforgivable, but the purpose was to further their wrongheaded and destructive view of American power and "nation-building." That was bad enough, but Trump hurts people just because he can and he likes it. It makes him feel powerful and important. He crushes and belittles and insults others for no particular reason other than to aggrandize himself. Bush was weak and incompetent and not the sharpest knife in the drawer but I don't recall him insulting reporters, calling women ugly, making fun of disabled people, or generally being a douche just because he liked it.

(3,557 posts)The majority of the current death happened in the last 6 weeks. Exactly a month ago we had about 9,000 dead Americans.
At this rate, well be at 135,000 in about a month from now
I just read an article that said that experts expect that we could see more than 3,000 deaths per day as some states start to open back up.
Scary stuff.

(3,557 posts)At least so far.
Ive been fortunate in that I havent been affected by the pandemic except for a slight reason of inconvenience of social distancing. I dont expect that be the case for much longer.
I was an active part in the war on Iraq. I spent 2004-2005 in country serving as an Infantry Platoon Leader. 13 of 46 Soldiers in my Platoon were wounded, 5 of those were killed. I stuffed more body bags with people and their bits and pieces than I care to recount. I suffer from severe PTSD, to the point that I havent worked in 5 years and live off of disability since I was 35.
trump hasnt angered anywhere close as much as bush, his ilk, and the people in congress who allowed the war to happen.

We still have slaves and worse on planet Earth in 2020, this whole planet is just full of dumbfuckery and those that exploit it?

(24,392 posts)the anger and hatred I felt for him, Cheney, Rove, etc. was bad, but it wasn't at a constant peak because it wasn't like almost every minute of every day was a new outrage. There would be stuff that would come up periodically that upset me and I was very despondent and angry about him being re-elected but it seemed like everything went downhill for him after that point, so the outrage was being felt and acted on by most people when it came to the midterms and then the 2008 Presidential Election that gave us President Obama, however, this guy and his minions make just about every minute feel like an hour, every hour feel like a day, every day feel like a week, and so on. And there's pretty much nothing to do about it because he has one chamber of Congress captured, along with the Federal Government (what's left of its rotting carcass) to help shield him from the necessary accountability that should be expected.

(115,587 posts)During the Bush administration I was pretty constantly enraged about the Iraq war, and from time to time Bush would do or say some other thing that was stupid and/or infuriating, but it wasn't every single damned day like with Trump. Bush lied outrageously about the war, of course, but he didn't lie every day about everything, important or not, like the size of his inaugural crowd or his dick or even how often he played golf. He didn't spend every press conference whining about how the press was mistreating him. Bush pissed me off and I got pretty tired of him but he didn't wear me out like this. It wasn't, Oh fuck me, what fresh hell has he opened up today? Trump's outrages are so nonstop that we can't even keep track of them.

(22 posts)I didnt pay attention to the news, to around the time of the mid-terms.
George W. Bush was a special kind of bad, but what I am witnessing now is insanity. Only six more months until the election. This too will pass.
