(45,806 posts)were discussing how NY would ever be able to open. That they would need many thousands of contact tracers because of the population size there. I have no idea if any States are taking it serious or not yet.

(7,405 posts)you can pay them for isolating at home and doing contact tracing. Simple choice.
I also think a lot of people would like to feel helpful, like they were doing something of use.

(9,010 posts)California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said Wednesday that the state is planning to train up to 10,000 contact tracers amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Expanding contact tracing and testing is one of six indicators Newsom said last week would drive the states decision to gradually modify portions of the stay-at-home order.
Newsom said testing and contact tracing will be expanded, adding that President Trump committed to sending the state 100,000 testing swabs next week and 250,000 swabs the following week.
