Wendys, known for advertising fresh beef in its burger patties, is dealing with higher prices for scarce beef. Bloomberg reports that customers noticed that they could only order chicken menu items for take out or delivery while using the restaurants official app in California.
Soon, customers pointed out on Twitter that Wendys hallmark product was not available, prompting users to rhetorically ask Wheres the beef? as a riff on the company's catch phrase.
Speaking to Restaurant Business, Heidi Schauer, a Wendys spokesperson, wrote in an email that the company acknowledged its supply chain difficulties, and is working closely with our supplier partners and restaurant teams to minimize the impact to our customers and continue to monitor this closely.
Wendys has yet to comment on the menu change ...

(25,908 posts)Libertarian philosophy led to a food supply chain that depends on cheap labor (primarily powerless, easily exploited undocumented workers). Contagious disease runs rampant in an environment designed for maximum efficiency at the expense of human needs.
I wish all libertarians would all pack up and go live together somewhere and leave the rest of us alone.

(35,295 posts)shortage. Another friend said they didn't have hamburgers at one local store. I get the Spicy Chicken most of the time myself.
It is probably because they don't use frozen meat. With some of the meat processors closed fresh meat is not
available.
