https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/?utm_campaign=homeAdvegas1?I look at the above website several times a day. The day ends and resets to the next day at Midnight GMT, which is 8pm east coast time.
It is 140 pm east coast time as I type this, and there are already 1,227 US deaths today. The past two days have been running right around 1,300 for the entire day.

(14,854 posts)That's what I think. There's a pretty consistent pattern that is probably due to some of the people who compile and report cases and deaths being off work on weekends.

(33,999 posts)What you are proposing accounts for a daily glitch - but reports are corrected and deaths moved to the day they actually occur - generally within a week's time (aside from when the reporting criteria changed). The pattern from the two previous weeks still shows fewer deaths on the weekend - and generally on Monday, with an increase on Tuesday.

That said, we'll no doubt hit 2,000 deaths reported today, if not more. We'll likely end the day over 72,000 dead.
