(25,111 posts)they are larger than the other hornets and are killers which can wipe out a beehive within minutes. Their stinger can inject a grown man and the poison can kill him. But alas, they must taste good tho.

(25,914 posts)I'd try an alcohol extract of murder hornet venom. I heard it's a bit spicy.

(5,318 posts)Nature is cruel. The giant hornet is not evil, but needs to eat, too. It's unfortunate that so many species have to painfully kill others just to survive.
This was the very reason I started doubting the silly notion of some "loving God" in the first place. I could never see a lion grab a gazelle by the throat or a python swallow a muskrat and also think that such an entity could exist.

I remember reading about these several years back (why I looked them up at the time) - they were only in Japan and China at the time.

(25,914 posts)living organisms won't have to consume other organisms for sustenance. Life-sustaining substances will form spontaneously when the correct elements are brought together under the right conditions, which would be easy to obtain. Instead of an alimentary canal, organisms would evolve with the ability to absorb all nutrients by osmosis.
Ill have more details worked out by the time I ascend the Throne of Creation.

Cirque du So-What
(25,914 posts)Humanoids can sit in a communal vat of nutrients. Heightened senses will make as enjoyable as haute cuisine. Metabolic waste will also be eliminated osmotically iby dipping an appendage into a separate stream of flowing water. This simultaneous absorption and excretion will be considered an intimate, relaxing experience.
I refuse to consider sexuality, lest I get accused of being a weirdo. Trust me, though, it'll be spectacular.

(11,623 posts)Then again so are honeybees but we are rather dependent on their contributions as pollinators.

It's a pity, though, that we have to deal in death.

(56,828 posts)from what I understand, the European bees that Japan had imported do not have this defense and the bees in the US are more like the European bees.

(11,623 posts)... of course they have been bred here for many many years and there is a lot of work in the United States to make bloodlines more hygenic to resist mites and other newer challenges that bees face. My guess is there's no reason they would know how to deal with this invasive predator which is very different than anything they have been exposed to here.
