Trump made the announcement in a series of Twitter posts. He said the group may add or subtract members and that it would focus on safety, reopening the country, and vaccines and therapeutics.
Visiting Arizona on Tuesday, Trump said we will have something in a different form in place of the task force. He said we cant keep our country closed for the next five years when asked why the administration was phasing it out.
Democrats criticized the decision to close the task force. It appears the plan is, shamefully, to have no plan, Trumps 2016 election opponent Hillary Clinton wrote on Twitter.

But that deserves analysis:
Democrats change their minds after looking at facts as they come in.
Republicans change their minds after they find public resistance to their uninformed gut decision or attempt at political overreach gets panned by the public.
