What I do know is that in NY they went back and re-examined a number of the deaths to determined what was Covid-19 or not. Nursing homes accounted for more than first reported. ME's when back to revise some of their reports after testing came back.

If anything the count is being changed by Trump sympathizers to reduce the count of the dead from Covid.
