So... instead of firing FAUCI/BIRX, is the trick to re-do the task force sidelining them?

In my neck of the woods there was a public agency run by an infamously despotic head, a terror to the employees and the community. The agency had a lawyer who did what was possible to keep the practices within the law.

The top dog ruled with an iron hand, demanding personal loyalty at all levels, down to the lowliest, blah blah just like SHITLER, and if firing wasn't possible in certain instances, different pressures were exerted to make the chosen target eager to depart voluntarily.

What I heard from a friend working there was that at a particular point, the boss wanted to get rid of a little group that for whatever legal reasons couldn't be fired outright. So the plan became to lay off a whole set of units under cover of "budget cutbacks," and that the vacancies would be posted for hiring with the word being that preference would be given to ex-employees because of prior experience.

Note: This was thirty or more years ago, and my info was from a lower level employee without specialized background in employment law, so please, no quibbling from deep legal eagles, tia.

So, the devious plan was to hire back the acceptable ex-employees and not hire the blackballed ones - with any kind of high-sounding rationalizations about why they were outdone by other candidates.

********So, SHITLER couldn't fire FAUCI because of the shitstorm, meaning re-do the task force, is that it?!

They'll shut down a project or a department, and say, "We'll try to find you another place in the company...." And don't.

Or they make you a "consultant" and never use you.
Or if you are hourly, they trim your hours until you give up and get another job.

There's always a "legal" way.
