Video of Brunswick shooting made by one of victim's pursuers (William "Roddie" Bryan)

The surge of attention, and the decision to open a state investigation, was prompted by the video — a video shot by a friend of Greg and Travis McMichael who had helped the father and son chase down and trap Arbery.

William “Roddie” Bryan, 50, is identified in police documents as the person behind the video. He is also referenced by Greg McMichael in the police report of the Feb. 23 shooting. Bryan figures to be a part of the GBI’s investigation, which was opened Tuesday night following a request by Atlantic Circuit District Attorney Tom Durden. Earlier that day Durden announced he would ask a grand jury to “consider criminal charges” against those involved. It's not known if Bryan will be subject to charges"We've now assigned the case to three of our experienced supervisory agents," GBI Director Vic Reynolds said in a video tweet. "The governor in this state wants justice in this case and so does the GBI."

In a letter sent to a Glynn County police captain, Barnhill wrote that the three men were in “hot pursuit” of a burglary suspect with “solid, firsthand probable cause.”

I'd like to see all police communications about the crimes and descriptions of said suspects. How were these guys informed about the case and why they didn't follow the advise of Dispatch. Details are the enemy of real criminals.

“Burglaries” were even ever reported. That’s another thing that stinks about this whole thing.

They said the “burglaries” were on going thing, I also would like to see the police reports on these “burglaries,”

2. a black man who was running, alone
3. a black man who reacted when he saw 2 white men pointing guns at him
4. an unarmed black man who "attacked" a man, not a police officer mind you, a civilian, brandishing a shot gun at him
5. an unarmed black man in the state of Georgia away from the prying eyes of the media
6. Oops, sorry about #5. Forgot that they videoed the murder because, in the state of Georgia, there are inbred racist peckerwoods prowling the pathways looking for victims and hee-hawing the opportunity to murder someone for fun.

I saw the video before finding out the entire context, and I had wondered why there was a video shot by someone arriving on the scene.
