Shooting at OKC McDonald's over COVID-19 dining room policy leaves 3 injured

Last edited Thu May 7, 2020, 12:20 PM - Edit history (2)

UPDATE: Oklahoma City police say original reports indicated there were two suspects, however, it was later determined to be only one suspect.

One employee was hit in the arm, a second was hit with shrapnel in the neck/shoulder and a third employee was hit with shrapnel in the side. Two of the employees are 16 years old, according to police. They were all taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.

Oklahoma City police say the woman became agitated when told the restaurant’s dining rooms were closed due to COVID-19.

stochastic terrorism

noun
the public demonization of a person or group resulting in the incitement of a violent act, which is statistically probable but whose specifics cannot be predicted: The lone-wolf attack was apparently influenced by the rhetoric of stochastic terrorism.

She also should be doing a very, very long stretch in prison.
That kind of toddler-esque lack of control is one of the reasons we need to have psychological screening for firearm licenses AND to enforce strict anti-gun possession requirements and penalties on those who violate them.

what kind of moron would think it's an acceptable response to start firing a gun over something so trivial? Plus it's not like she was there with her family, she was alone! Can't she simply eat in her car or maybe go to a nearby park?

Even if they don't put her in jail, at the very least she should be required to get some kind of anger management therapy!!

Police identify woman accused of opening fire at McDonald’s employees over COVID-19 dining room policy

Police say it started around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening when a women entered the McDonald’s near S.W. 89th and Penn expecting to be able to sit down and eat. Because of COVID-19, employees told the woman that McDonald’s dining rooms are still closed.

The suspect refused to leave and a physical altercation ensued between the suspect and an employee. The suspect exited the store briefly, but returned with a handgun. Police say she fired approximately three rounds in the restaurant.

Four employees were injured, and three went to the hospital. One employee was hit in the arm, a second was hit with shrapnel in the neck/shoulder and a third employee was hit with shrapnel in the side. Two of the employees are 16 years old, according to police.

Officials tell KFOR original reports indicated there were two suspects, however, it was later determined there was only one suspect – 32-year-old Gloricia Woody.

I live in Tulsa & have lived here most of my life but I also lived in OKC for awhile & I hated it! yes, there are some good people there but it is mostly redneck conservatives! OKC is like a big, spread out small town. They all love their guns too.

Tulsa is a beautiful city & even though we have conservatives here too, It's different from OKC. Tulsa also has more liberal voters than other places in the state. In 2008, Tulsa cast more votes for Obama while much of the rest of the state voted for McCain.

There is a Dem congresswoman in okc elected by Democrats. The rep for the Tulsa and metro area is a RWNJ. If Tulsa is so woke where’s their Dem rep?

Also, Clinton and medical marijuana did better in OK County than they did in Tulsa. I get it. I grew up in Tulsa and love it too. But confirmation and location bias are real.

there are a few Tulsa dem reps who serve on the state level. I wasn't saying that we always vote more democratic, I was simply giving one example. We are still in Oklahoma after all & in this state republicans often win.

As you said, I probably am biased since I come from Tulsa & I have lived here for much of my life.
