for an 18-year-old kid who killed his little brother and stabbed his father last night. He was a high school student along with my grandson and in recent years had gotten into a lot of trouble. Perhaps the combination of isolation and the crazy full moon contributed to the craziness, but this morning sirens are wailing from one end of the upper keys to the other and the high school is in lock down even though only cafeteria staff are there providing lunches for transportation to the community kids.
So sad.

(12,376 posts)Executive Bay Club in Islamorada, elder Bushs favorite town to vacation and fish in the Keys. The kid was was a druggie. Rumor at the location says he took off in a boat and marine patrol and helicopters are now all over the place.
Not if theres anything remotely funny about this, but in the past week or so a ton of boats have come down from Miami with people wanting to use our beaches, and cant because the roads are closed. I was just picturing these folks out on the water with no clue about what has happened, suddenly being deluged with helicopters and government boats. They must be shitting a brick thinking they are the ones that are being chased. Serves em right.

(12,376 posts)After seeing his picture on several local sites, I do remember him, but as a younger boy, a happier face. Working at the school Ive watched all of these kids grow, and I wished every one of them a happy life, but I have seen drugs take a few of the others over the years. As you can imagine, Im crying as Im writing this.
