Governor Whitmer announces phased re-opening of Michigan:



Today, I announced:

✅ That Michigan’s manufacturing workers will return to work on Monday, May 11th.
✅ An extension of the Safer at Home order to May 28th.
✅ The 6 phases of the MI Safe Start Plan to re-engage our economy.

You can’t be punished for not returning to the workplace if you don’t feel safe doing so.

I don’t plan on going back until cases are WAY down.

I guess everyone will just have to be careful. I guess Florida is basically the same as Michigan in opening. Although Disney will open way later then anything in Michigan I’d imagine.

Moreover, there's a noticible dearth of info on what she's relying on to make that judgement without widespread testing in her state. What are the actual benchmarks she's using for each level of reopening? Numbers, not generalizations.

How has manufacturing been made safe for workers?

I think this is going to go badly and she's now going to be on the hook for it. For the record I don't think she had much choice. What, with Rethugs suing around every corner while shrugging thier shoulders as armed citizens storm the capital.

And what info they are using.

No idea where the state or areas actually are thought to be in the phases chart.
