He replied that he mostly agreed with Trump's racist/anti-intellectual rants (big surprise, it is the deep south here) but regarding his potential excesses, he said the "Generals will know when to step in".
He is like so many "conservatives" in my experience. He has no apparent capability (much less disposition) to imagine things. Things like our country when there is a military takeover of the executive branch of the federal government.
And he, a veteran who once swore to uphold the constitution with his life.
