He doesn't want to answer questions. Lawyer telling him not to answer. The lawyer is an asshole! He even said his client is a poor mechanic with only a high school education. And we know what the schools are like around here? WTFuckityfuck?

I'd like to see the guy get questioned, too, but we still have Miranda, even for folks we don't like.

(2,193 posts)"Roddy" attempted to block him.
The father son team in truck were working with Roddy to box in the victim, the police report from that same day indicates this.
Roddy is described as a witness because all three were involved and describing how they were catching a bad guy black dude.

(5,123 posts)How he could not only watch the video, but read McMichael's statement immediately after it happened and say that no charges should be filed is an insult to other lawyers . Either you are corrupt and engaged in a cover up, or you are incompetent at your job. Either way, corrupt or incompetent. You need to go.
Repeatedly McMichaels in that statement speaks of trying to cut Ahmaud off with vehicles. His pickup truck and Roddy's vehicle.
He says he called out to his son about " the suspect" and grabbed his gun because he did not know if the guy was armed?
If you thought he was armed why did you not call the police?
How did Barnhill determine this shooting was justifiable? Because McMichaels said so? Is that what you learned in law school? Even after he says immediately after it happened, I chased him, I got my son to chase him, we got our guns, tried to impede his freedom. He tried to AVOID us - he ran the other way.
What logic or legal reasoning did Barnhill use to say this was justified?
I am also furious when McMichaels says Ahmaud fell on his face, he turned him over to see if he had a gun. Not to see if he was alive. I am guessing he was hoping to find a gun to bolster his self defense argument.

(2,193 posts)That is exactly what they say.
When fat white men tell you to stop in Georgia and you don't stop and then their gun goes off, well that's on you.
The cops and the DA feel that way, and that's all they know.

(20,576 posts)Roddy has a really weird lawyer. He was all over the map and made sure his client did not say anything. What was the point of it anyway. Cuomo should have sent them on their way.

(2,193 posts)The lawyer who released the video, not the one representing Roddy now.
I wish I could find the video but here's what he said:
""The video speaks for itself," Tucker said. "What happened, happened. I don't have an excuse for it. I can't explain. Other than, we always say, 'What if he had just froze and hadn't done anything, he wouldn't have gotten shot.'"

"Have you ever had a gun pointed at you? I have on three different occasions. You do one of three things
freeze, fight or flee. I have always frozen and looked at the barrel hoping I could move fast enough once I saw the flash, to not be shot. When someone has a gun pointed at them, the person holding the gun has no clue how the other person will react. Will they freeze, will they run, or will they fight? In their mind they are trying to process in seconds the proper way to react. If I run do I get shot in the back. If I freeze can I dodge the bullet. If Im going to get shot anyway, do I go down fighting. From looking at the video, Mr. Arbery obviously decided to fight. If he had just frozen, he wouldnt have gotten shot. "

(5,123 posts)The perpetrator gets to yell self defense! However, the black person does not have a right to self defense???
What do you do when you think your life is about to end? Fight of Flight. That's our natural instinct.
Its just repulsive to think that black people should not defend themselves when they are faced with the possibility of being killed.
Secondly, Why is the responsibility on black people to stop white perpetrators from killing them?
When police shoot someone in the back when they are running away, the first question some people ask is why did he run?
Not why did the police officer shoot him in the back?

(2,193 posts)They had it from day one and everyone's interpretation of it seems to be that out of sight on the other side of the truck Ahmaud must have struggled and made Travis shoot him.
Imagine that. Boxed in by three armed men in two vehicles, the unarmed jogger is shot.
And he made them do it. Police had the video the whole time.
