(1,159 posts)I'm fairly left of center, as are most of my closest friends. When my white friends see this video, their responses range from shock to anger to sadness and disgust. I and my black MALE friends, however, tend to laugh uproariously at it. We laugh not because the underlying reality is funny, but because the racism is so flagrant that it is, well, hilarious. The alternative, if I let myself go there emotionally, is a soul-consuming rage. My black FEMALE friends, though, . . . they are almost in tears in fear for the black man's life, and more than a little angry that he risked his life for such an experiment where surely he knew he could have been killed.
