Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHas anyone turned in their 2020 US Census form?
I thought the form would be more detailed Just # people in household & b-days pretty much.
According to this website https://www.censusoutreach.org/census-timeline the deadline is Oct. 31.
Can anyone confirm this?

(853 posts)One like you received and a long form to randomly selected homes.

(94,511 posts)There is only ONE Census Form (short) for everyone. There is a separate AMERICAN COMMUNITY SURVEY which is carried out annually to randomly selected households.

(16,063 posts)It's random.
All I got was this:
"For security reasons, your session has been terminated."
And I got nothing in the mail in Dallas (my mail is forwarded to me here in Germany).

(5,524 posts)If the census website was blocked from international traffic.
It would be the kind of myopic simplistic approach set up by a nationalist regime that wasnt actually interested in collecting good data.

(54,367 posts)I have a legal residence in Germany, anyway. I'm just still in Texas for purposes of voting and maintaining my driver's license and bank account. Otherwise, the house is just a mailing address except for the 10 days a year when I'm really there. My housemates probably got counted.

You know the gop will try illegal redistricting...using bogus census data..

(58,785 posts)basically, yes the 2 of us here. We received two by mail, one for our Georgia address and one for our Florida address, but were only supposed to complete the one for our state of residence, which we did on line. I'd be interested in seeing the long one.
I think I remember that the deadline for responding was in April. Census takers will be knocking on doors, or however it'll be handled , for those who hadn't responded.
For those who believe in government of, by and for the people, of course, the more complete and accurate the count the better.

(32,080 posts)Some people get a more detailed form, as I did back in 2000. Most people just get the short form.

(35,328 posts)they wanted was your race and national origin. What does your national origin have to do with anything. I am a certified
mutt.
Ancestry says my country of origin is:
England, Wales, NW Europe 71%
Ireland, Scotland 23%
Germanic Europe 2%
Norway 2%
Baltics 1%
Benin and Togo 1%
Benin and Togo I am African American too.
