That the Obama Biden plan was insufficient. Last August, his administration put together a more detailed plan with a follow up, detailed report.

In the image, Kayleigh McEnany holds Obama's plan in her right hand while holding Trump's plans in the binders in her left.

(82,849 posts)He likes it when people call him "Sir."
Where is this marvelous plan? What does it say? Is the first step "Deny, ignore, deflect, sow doubt, and issue confusing and contradictory statements"? Because that's been the go-to strategy for months. The sacrifices people made since March have been utterly wasted by Trump, whether it was failing to act or acting against the advice of the experts and professionals. The American people bought him 10 weeks to get a coherent plan in place (to-wit: Testing, Tracing, and Isolating Infected Individuals), and Trump has squandered every last second we bought him on temper tantrums, revenge-seeking, whining, and some of the stupidest statements this side of the drunk guy at the end of the bar.

We can't be paying people just in case something happens.
Yeah, that first step is working out just peachy!

(10,123 posts)Trump's claim that his plan (that nobody has seen) is better than Obama's plan flies in the face of McConnell's lie that Obama did not provide Trump with a plan.
And of course, where is the plan the lying Senate Leader is operating with ... ?

(15,805 posts)appeared out of thin air today? We never heard Trump of any of his minions ever mention they had any such response plan since the virus arrived in January. So here we are 5 months later and Trump suddenly remembers he had a plan?
I can't wait to hear the excuses on this one!

(5,524 posts)OK, write a response manual that looks like it was done years ago but somehow outlines all of the various positions we have held including all of the fuck-ups.
Never mind, just put a wad of blank paper in a binder and wave it around. Make sure to mark it classified so no one can actually see it.

(22,756 posts)In Chicago, back in August 2019, federal agencies conducted a mock drill to see how the nation would handle a pandemic, specifically a deadly global outbreak with no known cure. The exercise pointed to a number of national shortcomings, including an insufficient amount of medical supplies.
It is called the 'Crimson Contagion 2019 Functional Exercise' and is marked not for distribution. The New York Times was the first to report and publish it.
This was an exercise about the flu, not the coronavirus, but the document points to specific problematic areas for a hypothetical outbreak that, prophetically, begins in China and lands in Chicago.
https://www.justsecurity.org/69650/timeline-of-the-coronavirus-pandemic-and-u-s-response/
The Department of Health and Human Services concludes its Crimson Contagion simulation in August. The exercise simulated a U.S. response to a fictitious respiratory virus that began in China and quickly spread around the world. The result of the exercise, contained in an internal draft report in October 2019 and marked Draft Do Not Distribute, includes a section titled resources. The section foregrounds the lack of PPE preparedness in the event of a global pandemic and problems in the supply chain for medical equipment including ventilators and other ancillary medical supplies.

(21,945 posts)His plan was to call the virus a hoax, tell everyone that it would magically go away, make no preparations, do a half-assed travel ban on Chinese nationals, then once the outbreak got out of control tell governors that it's their problem, refuse to take responsibility, tell everyone to go back to work, and then cover up the actual death toll.
And there was me thinking that he didn't know what he was doing, but it turns out that it was all done on purpose. Okay then.

(11,885 posts)Just like he claimed we'd have a better , cheaper lower costing affordable health care plan. It was just more of trump going on another lying spree. Just like the new middle class tax cuts he claimed of before the 2018 elections , and like his claims he would not cut Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, then did in the 2017 tax scam bill he signed. His lying is escalating out of control now.
