Yep! People are flocking to bars in Wisconsin to spread the virus amongst the drunks! I dont doubt there is a rise in cases in Wisconsin & that will be on Wisconsin Supreme Court! Just because the GOPers of Wisconsin dont like their governor!

(15,705 posts)Out of 1,000 tests only 1 positive. Thats encouraging considering at least 85 percent were over 55.

(16,616 posts)When people have a few drinks they start to feel warm and fuzzy and throw caution to the wind, feeling invincible, getting up in each other's faces, hugging, kissing, singing old songs, dancing... until that fifth or sixth drink when things turn ugly. Then they are shouting and spitting in each other's faces over stuff that happened twenty years ago.

(32,626 posts)I'd be lined up at the door. The first thing that came to mind when things closed down, was the bars. My god, no bar to go to...for weeks? I could see people hanging in the kitchen or the liquor room...just like where we did lines. And, if you were good with the local cops, you could get away with it. If given a choice..it would've been 'we all die some day'. That is the essence of the selfishness of an alcoholic/addict. You can't think of others when you don't think at all.

A Virologist who was also an Epidemologist took a flight home to New Orleans. He saw that the flight was packed and thought about getting off the plane. He wore a mask, gloves and wiped everything down and even changed gloves. He came down with covid19 soon after arriving home, like two days later. The guy is an expert, he believes that he contracted SARS-COV-2 on the flight via his eyes. I have ordered a pair of wrap-around safety glasses, did that last week well before I read the article today. I will always wear a mask and goggles while out, spray everything down with 91% alcohol when I get home, including the goggles and mask, spray my hands, clean the bottle and then wash my hands thoroughly with warm water and soap. The long aside has two purposes, first, the eyes may be a path for SARS-COV-2 to enter a person. Second, you don't know who is infected, there is no reason to take a chance with anyone.
As far as people going to bars, you can't control that. Just don't go yourself. What you can control somewhat is your defense against incidentally contracting SARS-COV-2. That is all you can do. Hopefully the bar was full of MAGATS, if a progressive was there, that person needs his or her head examined. Just protect your self against people that got infected there and come across you. Don't assume that any part of your body is safe from SAR-COV-2.

(63,221 posts)Thank you for the heads up. Flying is still not safe. Gathering in crowded spaces is still not safe. Why are people having such a hard time understanding this?

(31,261 posts)Some of the people not wearing a facemask in honor of Trump will likely be dead in a few months. My position is I am not going to let them take me with them without putting up a fight, I want that fight to be from ahead of the eightball, not from laying in a hospital bed fighting for my life.

(296,893 posts)but on a compact cabin of a plane.. if someone had it.. there's not much chance because it can be spread through our eyes.
I've been reading that all along.
Good on you, Blue_true, covering your eyes with goggles, too. Thank you for the reminder.

(31,261 posts)killer diseases all seemed to have one thing in common, they found several points of entry into a person. So much is unknown about this current virus that it's scary.
