(9,670 posts)Obviously, Obama is not guilty of any crimes....but Trump is. So if he's ever held accountable in a court of law, he can't say he thinks Presidents are immune from long sentences, because he's actually touting them.

(46,700 posts)Since everything that Trump does is projection, he knows that what he's done can land him in jail for 50 years. He's also broadcasting his worst fear: testifying.
Wouldn't that be a dream. Watching Trump testify in public. Wow. Now that would be something.

Dave Starsky
(5,914 posts)He played kind of a smarmy asshole in Double Indemnity, as well. That's another favorite of mine.
It's amazing that they picked him to play the sage, kindly dad on My Three Sons. I can't watch that show anymore without seeing him as his other characters.
japple
(9,822 posts)his character on My Three Sons. Van Johnson and Jose Ferrer also had standout roles in that film.
Dave Starsky
(5,914 posts)He started out in Hollywood as a saxophone player. He didn't even want to be an actor.
On My Three Sons, he demanded that he only work for, like, three or four weeks a year, and he refused to come back in for any retakes. They would shoot all of his scenes for an entire season in a few weeks, and for the rest of the year, the rest of the cast would just talk to an empty chair or a stand-in.
Definitely and great and versatile actor, though.

(25,963 posts)"Follow Me, Boys!" about a man who ends up being a small town Boy Scout troop leader. It's a Disney schmaltz fest that was popular at Y camp movie nights. That might account for some seeing his ability to portray a father figure. Goodness, I am showing my age.
Dave Starsky
(5,914 posts)The part that sticks out in my mind is the subplot with Kurt Russell as a boy whose father is deep in the grip of alcoholism. It was a very frank, disturbing, and sad portrayal that you weren't used to seeing in a Disney movie.

He knows he can't lose the election and survive, so he is going to win no matter what it takes. The old boy may be crazy as hell, but he has a lot of power at his fingertips. He is probably having the White House measured for the new throne for King Donald I.

Warpy
(111,247 posts)He starts to lash out in all directions. I doubt he and Barr are going to get anywhere with this one since no one knows who leaked this (probably a Republican, they're careless) and the potential treason was on Flynn's side, he's been a bad actor for a long time.
Expect a lot worse and a lot more erratic bullshit to come, all trumpeted by Pox News and right fringe websites, with deranged gunloons quoting it all like gospel.
As bad as things are, they're going to get on hell of a lot worse before they get better.

(1,351 posts)There is a reason Lindsey Graham shot this idea down almost before Trump could finish his sentence...Lindsey knows that there is a whole ugly can of worms aimed squarely at Trump and his cronies which would get opened up if Obama testifies. Also, whatever Obama would testify about would more than likely REQUIRE Trump to testify as well.
The GOP wants nothing to do with calling Obama to come in and testify about all the dirt that the FBI, CIA, etc dug up on Flynn, the meeting at Trump Tower about adoptions, etc.
As Lindsey himself said Be careful what you wish for.
