Independence Day Rewrite

Had the president in the movie “Independence Day” been Donald Trump, the plot would have been as follows:

As world leaders report sightings of alien spacecraft over their countries, the “pResident” claims the invasion is a Democratic hoax meant to make him look bad.

Once convinced that the alien invasion is real, the “pResident” announces that the border wall will immediately be made higher to keep them out.

In the midst of the mayhem, the “pResident’s” sons explain how the invasion will miraculously disappear after the next election.

The “pResident” instructs the military to communicate with the aliens, to find out if they have any dirt on Joe Biden.

In an effort to protect the nation, the “pResident” demands that all airports be shut down – the same tactic that worked so successfully in 1775.

Scenes of world-wide TV coverage of the disaster include screen shots of Fox & Friends discussing how Obama was actually born on a distant planet, and is directing their attacks via Hillary’s email server.

Once safe within the Area 51 bunker, the “pResident” urges all citizens to go back to their jobs for the sake of the economy.

The Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum characters would never have been sent on a mission to disable the aliens’ spaceships, because there’s no way the “pResident” will allow a black man and a Jew to get credit for saving the Earth.

The iconic “Independence Day” speech would be a self-congratulatory diatribe lasting two-plus hours – giving the aliens more than enough time (and motive) to obliterate the planet.
