It use to be fun and exciting to get up in the a.m. and look forward to hitting the Mac immediately in order to see whats up. Specifically the McCain, Romney, Obama days in their run up to the elections. First thing in the am!!!!

(38,187 posts)re-watching movies and TV shows, mostly obscure stuff, that I loved on Netflix before I close that account. I'm keeping it one free month and one paid month. So, I'm binging to get as much watched as possible. I wish I could get Amazon Prime video to work. I might try Amazon Prime for a while.
It really does stink. I cannot stomach Trump. I cannot stomach his worshipers and I live in an area that is about 77% Trump supporters/worshipers. I love staying home. It's less of them. It's just boring and depressing until you can immerse yourself into some other time or some other world through movies and TV shows you like.

(12,712 posts)It is interesting that we require a steady stream of some sort of distraction and then call it normal.
What did people do before all the mediums that are the message? The entire history of mankind must have been unbearably boring. I guess it was so bad that the people in ancient Asia had to just wind down the intellect, go within, and do absolutely nothing at all without feeling there was something wrong with it. They called that seeking, peace, original nature, insight. We call it boredom.
There is doing, (activity) and not doing, (calm abiding). It could be that, for our mental health, those are like objects and space. Can there be one without the other as far as our experience goes?
Now, it's like being plugged into a buzzing matrix of constant activity. Watch out, something might bubble up from deep within. We don't want that. Focus on the objects, the objects, so many objects out there to focus on One can observe the current goings on without dread and identification, but that would be in a bed of peace, repose, simple observation, etc. Then, it's just happening.
