The image this woman chose to illustrate her oppression is Anastácia, an enslaved African in 1700s Brazil. Her mistress ordered that iron spike torture device put to deform her face and squeeze her neck out of rage and jealousy that her husband wouldn't stop raping Anastácia.

Muzzles are for dogs and slaves?!?! Are you kidding me. Can you imagine what she googled to find that picture? For sure it was not Anastácia - doubt she would have ever had any interest in learning about the history of slavery... maybe just black people in masks. Cause slaves.

She does not seem to be rejecting the idea that muzzles are for slaves. Muzzles were/should not have been for slaves. Second, no one seems to be muzzling this woman. There is not muzzle on her mouth and she is expressing her opinion with a sign while, as far as I can see, no one is attempting to prevent her from expressing her opinion.
